Me: Linux longhair (had a Guiness beer with Linus Torvalds himself), BOFH (Bastard Operator From Hell or system administrator), C and Perl programmer, spammers' bane, blacklist maintainer, sendmail wrangler, domain name server tweaker, firewall builder - you name it...

I'm mainly a hardware geek. I've got 4 systems set up
in my room (including my mail and web server), and more
aging computer hardware than you can shake a stick at.
I could go into nauseating detail, but I'd probably
bore everybody...
I've done a little coding. I know a little Pascal and
C, but certainly nothing extensive, and I've probably
forgotten most of it...

I used to program in basic on an old Apple IIe. Also learned a lot of Assembly and did some ASM programming on the same computer. I've also done some C language programming -- but I've forgotten most of it -- yeah -- it's been a while. You have to be a damn good programmer [much experience] to program Windows API's in C++. It's quite complex -- but I still study it sometimes. Of course, you could always do visual C++ [or Basic], but there are some disadvantages to the "visual" stuff. Sometimes I help our 'embedded code' [C language] programmer at work. Occasionally I find mistakes he's made. Later.

I don't code on a regular basis but have used Perl, C++, HTML and a little python. I work as a bilingual help desk guy these days. Pretty lame, but i went for a job interview for a Sun Unix position yesterday and they need a bilingual person to fill the spot. Please oh please get me off the help desk and onto the unix world hehe...how's that for being geek??

MS FoxPro (all versions) expert here. learned it in a unix environment and went on to dos and windows
been left out of the computer industry temporarily. maybe learn some html, etc java , some browser code and pages.
