Making the hair hang down

When my hair is a little bit wet it looks really good. But as soon as it gets completely dry some of it starts to look like it is filled with static electricity (unless I haven't washed it for a week :).
Does anyone know of any good ways to make hair "heavier" IE making it hanging straight down; without making it stick together (like hairspray does).

I use Suave Spray Gel. Works wonders. I haven't used hair spray in years.

I have that same problem. What I do is completely load it with leave-in conditioner when it's wet, comb it all back and leave it like that for as long as I can. then my hair hangs down more naturally when I comb it again

giovanni frizz-be-gone is what i use sometimes. in addition to getting it to go down and not stick out, it also makes it silkier, shinier, and easier to brush through, which is definately good once it gets longer.
