Getting through the awkward stage

What can I do to style my thick and curly hair at about 6 months of growth? It looks ok right after I'm finished washing it, but soon it gets big and frizzy. =( Any thoughts on how I can get it to look decent until it's longer?

Well, I have thick and curly hair, too. When I get out of the shower usually I never comb my hair. That just fluffs it up a lot. Let it dry naturally and usually that turns out better results for curlyheads. If you're still really frizzy, I'd go for a very mild de-frizz product. I'm sure people on this board would know of good ones. Good luck with growing, I'm just a little ahead of where you are by only a few months. Oh, and I changed my hairstyle. I used to make it all go back, but I part it down the middle now. The longer hair means more gets curly on top (i.e. A mountain). I hope some of this at least helps a little.

Dep level 8 non-alcoholic gel did the trick for me. Put it in while your hair is still wet. Brush it through and style as desired. Then let it air dry without touching it.
