Question about Bangs
Posted by Marcus Rex on December 29, 2002 at 19:00:10: Previous Next
I am 21, and have been growing my hair out for 6 or 7 months. My hair is thick and somewhat curly/wavy. But I can't seem to get my bangs out very far. When wet, the bangs will go down somewhat, but by the time they dry, they are no longer really covering my forehead. Is there any advice on how I can get fuller, longer bangs? Thanks. =)

6 or 7 months = 3 to 3 1/2 inches...
When dry, they most likely curl slightly so seem even shorter.
They have more growing out to do but
in the meantime...
add some kind of gel to weigh them down until they do...

Okay. Is there any particular gel you'd recommend?

Yes. My current favorites are:
*Aussie NATURAL GEL 7oz. tube blended into DAMP hair then styled.
*L'Oreal STUDIOS LIQUID GEL 6oz. SPRAY Bottle. This one
works better when sprayed onto dry OR damp hair for better control
or even to REstyle DRY hair.
These products work well with MY hair and you may not get the
same results. Who knows?
Also, the amount of Aussie Natural gel you put into your damp hair
will have to be adjusted to your hair.
AS your hair gets LONGer, you may need to use less & less.
Good Luck!

not that i want to put a downer on ur hair growing experience but im at around 9 months worth of growing my hair now and with around 7 inch bangs theyre still not weighing them selves down.. i think its a curse for people with wavey/curly hair untill its really long to a point where it does weigh it self down then u can consider ur hair alot better. imo

Perhaps I should have also made it clearer that, when they are dry, they barely even cover the top part of my forehead at all. That's how much they go up. I don't really know if there's another way I could comb them or something that would help.

Try combing them to the sides or just straight back. You probably dont want hair coming straight down your face like Cousin It anyway :)

: Only time will help. Your bangs start higher up on your head than anywhere else, so will always seem to be shorter than the rest of your hair. When I was 8 years old, I grew my bangs long enough to put in my mouth, but it took at least a year.
