Time to cut the old bangs?

Hi Guys:
I haven't posted here in awhile mainly b/c I haven't been having many hair problems:) I guess being at 2.5 years growth might have something to do with it! My question/problem is this...on the advice of my hair stylist and many on this board I haven't gotten my hair layered. Everytime I try to describe to my stylist that I want my bangs or sides of my hair to stop just below my chin, she says, "That's layering you don't want that." Is there any way to cut the bangs around where I want to, without layering? By the way just to give an idea of what style I'm going for, it's the Banderas Desperado look. Pics can be found in the archives. Thanks in advance.

Just having you bangs cut to chin level is not layering...
Layering is usually done ALL OVER the head. When it's done in just
ONE area it's more of a STYLE.
i'VE SEEN GIRLS who have LONG, STRAIGHT ONE-LENGTH hair (no layering)...
EXCEPT that they have shorter BANGS...
...so it's a STYLE...tell your STYList THAT!
dump your stylist

any hair professional who tries to tell you what you want instead of listening isn't worth their salt. run away- don't look back.

I have bangs and my sides layered and shaped so they curl back better. I would look thru magezines for a style you like for "YOU" and show it to your stylist. If she continues to balk at doing you might look for another stylist that Listens to her customer.
