Experience in this?

So I finally cut my hair because it was damaged. It was around 20 cm (donīt know in inches) that means a little under chin length.
The reason why I cut it is because it was really damaged because I washed it every day with shampoo and therefore it sucked because it also got oily EVERY DAY! I want to break this vicious circle, because itīs hard to wash it everyday also if there is no time and it sucks that my hair gets oily that fast.
As most of you pay attention to their hair for a long time I ask for your experience in this? Did anyone of you have the same problem and found a solution?

I noticed you said you only wash with Shampoo, right? well that could be the cause of the damage. always condition after you shampoo...always. Now, about the oilyness. I can't recommend anything for that as my hair gets really oily really fast as well. so I just put up with washing it when it gets too gresy

Well if your hair is oily shampooing it every day itself will not damage it (unless it's an extremely harsh shampoo) Are you sure there wasn't another reason why it was damaged?

The problem is, shampoo every day makes your scalp very dry.
Now your scalp produces more oil...and so on...
Solution: wash your hair with less shampoo and only your hair,
do not bring your scalp in contact with the shampoo.
When your hair starts to get less oily, you can wash your hair every second day with water only.
NoNo's: 1. special shampoo for oily hair - this helps to dry your
scalp and your scalp is producing MORE OIL!
2. don't bring your conditioner in contact with your scalp
Be prepaired: retrain your oil production takes time (up to 6 month)
Last: watch your food!
good luck

Yes, I have heard that before. So WHY should conditioner NOT
come into contact with the scalp?
