long hair newbie

ok, i havent had a haircut in a month, which i like a huge thing for me but i want it long. i need some advice on how to achieve my goal though. i want my hair just past my ears (how long would that take?) and i want it to look messy and just uncared for. kinda like the lead singer for incubus or kurt cobain i guess. any advice??

It will take about nine months of no haircuts and no haircair to achieve the length and the look you want. I don't think the result would be technically considered "long hair" but good luck anyway. I suggest a compromise. Consider washing and conditioning your hair but only use your fingers to comb it. It will be "messy" but clean.

That's an easy one and you already provided the answer; just don't wash hair (just wet it every morning), use an ample amount of some greasy stuff and shy away from brushes and combs. Ask your local bum for some haircare tips.
