Fun with hair ties

Last night, I was messing around with some hair ties (Chasing a dream, I suppose, as I cannot yet manage a ponytail.) Basically, I'd tied the hair on top of my head up at about the center to keep it out of my eyes. (I kinda looked like a candle.) Then, I took a couple more, and put the hair on the side of my head into pigtails. (I think that's what they're called.) Just where you have hair coming off your head at opposite sides. Not braided or anything.
Okay, well I actually liked the way it looked, even though it's considered a rather feminine hairstyle. (Hey, I'm considered a rather feminine guy. Just ask my mom. (That was a joke.)) Anyways, does anyone else here enjoy wearing their hair that way, or in a more feminine way? (If nothing else, the responses should be worth it.) Yet another reason to keep it growing.
I know there's a gallery of a guy trying out different feminine hairstyles, but I also remember it's huge, and my computer's not that fast. But if you've got the link, I've got time to let it load.

I wear it in a french twist, a lot. It is secure, efficient, and sleek looking. It used to take about nine bobby pins, but as I have gotten better at it, I can do it in four or five.

On bad hair days (which are extremely often) I wear it in a bun.

I usually wear my hair in a high ponytail or a bun. Just is more comfortable that way.

How long is your hair?

If it's very long, how long does it take to give you a headache?
I like to put my ponytail on top of my head, but after a day my head hurts, and I have to leave my hair down completely for about 3 days after that.

It's shoulder-blade length now. I usually don't get headaches, since I don't use the thin hair ties. And, actually, when I've had a headache and have had my hair down, I'll pull it up into a tail, which seems to relieve the pressure.

it's the exact opposite for me.

I just did it yesterday, and my head was killing me by the end of the day. I use cloth "scunchi" bands which are relatively wide...wider than the rubber band type.
I think I'll be putting my hair in a lower ponytail from now on. I like the higher pony, but the pain just isn't worth it.

Hmmm... You might want to send the person, who I gave you the email address of, an email. The ones she makes won't cause this type of pain you're having. The other thing I'd recommend is, making sure that your hair isn't being pulled extremely tight. Make sure you can stick a finger between your head and the outer layer of hair that's pulled back. If I do it extremely tight, it's painful. If it's a little loose, no pain.

With my hair almost at the end of the ackward stage I did go into a stylist on a weekend and asked to have my hair curled and set which seems to be very fem to some, but for me it looked pretty good. She used some setting gel and a lot of curlers. It felt nice and looked fem, but it was fun.

That made me giggle!
I used to do stuff like that to my husband's hair all the time!
His hair was to mid back. I'd just pull back the top part and pony tail it, put it up like you did, put rows of braids in it...just LOVED playing with his hair when he'd let me! Can't believe he put up with me! LOL
He cut it off almost a year ago, and we're separated now...

Hi,
for me it was my girlfriend starting playing with my hairstyle.
First with a high ponytail but soon starting with elaborated styles - while I was in the beginning very skeptical.
In the meantime - since she started last year - she nearly convinced me, that I'm best styled with my hair pinned up. her friends are confirming her state of view, but I still don't dare going in the public with such kind of style, though I'm comfortable with my hair wearing up.
While we had a vacation at a very lonely place over 2 weeks I was mostly wearing my hair that way in an updo, she had pinned me up on my head: she liked it and I nearly agreed, caused we had fun.
In the public I'm to shy to continue with this, and have my hair still in a ponytail, maybe some higher than usual.
One time - for her birthdayparty - she forced me to come with her in a salon for an elaborated updo - while I was concerned to have some embarrassing meeting with people in my neighbourhood, we were driving to another town, where she had made an appointment with a salon.
The result of the hairstyling she had instructed the stylist was stunning and I nearly didn't dare to leave the salon: my hair was pinned up in barrel-curls to a real bouffant additional decorated with some ringlets and my girlfriend needed several efforts to convince me not to undo this styling and more: to leave the salon this way.
And when we were out, I regret, that we were going with her car: otherwise she hadn't got me to make a stop at a coffee-bar, for she liked to celebrate the result of her undertaking.
At her party I tried to back out, but her friends found it to be a nice idea with my hairstyling and confirmed that I'm good looking this way, and in the end it was a comfortable experience, that she got me to repeat at some occasions.
But only a few times I was going in public this way styled: she convinced me to go crossdressed to avoid some embarrassing meetings, I was concerned to have, while she liked to have fun with me and this hairdos.
Otherwise I have no problems with this kind of games and to enjoy them with my girlfriend.
Peter
