WebPoll: Wavy /curly or straight hair?

Hi
I've checked through many posts and seen that a lot of you dislike curly / wavy hair. My hair is more-or less straight for most of the length and then goes wavy at the ends - maybe the last three inches or so. I remember when I wanted to grow my hair that I actually wanted it to be like this. It is something that I really like.
Just thought I'd ask you all which hair you think is the best - straight or wavy/curly hair?
Cheerio.

I have no choice but to accept the hair I HAVE...mild waves.
Years ago I wanted curly hair...then
I wanted it straight...
NOW I accept it for what it IS
Why make myself miserable?

I prefer wavy/curly, but i think the main reason why you percieve that many ppl don't like their wavy/curly hair is that many have thick wavy/curly hair, making it poofier and frizzier than simply straight thick hair.

A lot has to do w/ the "grass is greener" thing. I have hair that's either really wavy, or slightly curly. (Guess I'll have to wait a while before it really starts to show.) And right about now, I'm craving straight hair. The waves take up too much length.
I think that straight hair looks better when going for shoulder length or less, while hair with waves or curls looks better for anything more (even though it takes forever to get there.)
Anyone agree with me?

I haven't see that many if any people here dislike curly or wavey hair as a style, rather many people speak up and compliment those who post pictures with hair like that.
What you may have seen is guys just starting to grow their hair experiencing a lack of control that waves and curls in certain shorter lengths of hair cause...also known as the awkward stage. Some of the guys talking about hair straighteners haven't given their hair enough time to grow very long and are trying quick fixes which won't work well for healthy long term growth.
Preferring a straight or curly style from looking at someone else is a whole different ball game than patiently growing yours out to a very long length and experiencing how that length affects the wave, curl or straightness of your own hair.

Here is a funny thing, I used to *wish* I had wavy hair. All my life I've thought I had razor straight hair, like my mother. But I've always had *short* hair. I'm growing it now and at the nine-month mark my hair is wavy! It is a large wave that is only visible when my hair is long. It is also easy to scare away, just a little Gel makes my hair razor straight again. But here I got my wish for wavy hair and I love it. The back is starting to curl like crazy but I'm enjoying my unexpected bonus from growing my hair.
P.S.: My hair was "long" in the 70s but given all the mousse I used and constant blow-drying (the feathered look was in) I never noticed any of my natural wave. Then at age 17 my head was shaved in Basic training and my hair stayed short until last year (age 40).

This isn't an on-the-fence comment - I just honestly do love seeing long hair in all its forms (providing it has been left to grow naturally.) I'd argue that long curls are even more impressive considering the extra patience they require...

In the past few years absolute straight hair has been in fashion, and now wavy hair is starting to make a comeback. Personally I think straight or wavy can look good on guys or girls, but curly isn't my cup of tea. Just my 2 cents.

I like both straight and thin hair, and slightly wavy/wavy at ends hair.

My hairstylist once told me that everyone wants different hair than they have. There is a "grass is greener" effect. From his perspective, which makes sense to me, it's best to find a good style for your natural hair rather than doing anything too extreme to it. For me, long hair and natural hair go hand in hand.
