I havnt visited here for ages now but im back now. After seeing the post on brandon boyd, the poor lad that wanted his hair, sob.
I'd stick with your own mate. I have exactly the same hair as him but its longer. it's wavy and curls like mad at the back to the point where it doesnt really get longer cos it just curls and curls........ i think brandon does a lot to keep it flatish, when mine was his length - still the case now infact - i had to use loads of stuf to keep it from going huge, so if u want his hair, put curlers in the back, wave the front and keep it flat or big depending on wheter u wanna look like a twat or not.
lol nah im joking.
Is there a way i can cut my hair to lose this thickness???? without an undercut. like layering or something?
cheers
Dave

You don't know that for sure.

So that's what it takes to look like one, huh? LOL!!!

You do NOT want to lose that thickness! Just let it grow and it'll weigh itself down. That thickness is what will make it look good once you have decent length. Trust me.
Very Good Advise...

Devon is right, man, don't loose the thickness you have. Endure it all the way. Take it from someone who knows. I made the mistake last year of getting an undercut for the same reason. BIG MISTAKE!! I have learned over the last few years that people with thick hair who want to grow it long are very lucky in the end. That's why I am starting over. The weight will hold it down very nicely as it gets longer. The only thing is that we who have thick hair have a harder awkward stage to put up with. But believe me, it is going to be well worth it. I have seen guys who have really thick hair that have reached their goal and they are the ones who's hair looks exceptionaly awesome. Remember, we're the luckiest ones in the end. Don't cut it, put up with it! Peace!

Cheers guys, but i only want it down to just below shoulders, u reckon it will still weigh it down at this length? have u seen the drummer from placebo his new hair style is so cool and different from how it used to be.
from this link you can see that his hair is wavy - he's the one closed to the camera http://www.geocities.com/gr_placebo/photos_placebop5.html
In this link a more recent one its nice and straight im probably not that far off this length, but the curling takes about an inch off. so.....

What u think? Id like to get mine this kind of style and length will i have to get rid of the thickness or will it weigh its self down at this length?
Cheers
Dave

From that last picture, i would say that he achieves his "thinness" with some kind of product. You can see that his hair is not dry in that picture, so i would imagine he is using something not so disimilar to BrylCream.
No-ones' hair is the same as anybody elses'. The chances of your hair being of the same type as a specific other person are not very great. The best thing to do, is to let your hair grow, and you will eventually like it how it is, and wont be so bothered by trying to look like someone else.

I agree with Nathan. If you don't already have hair somewhat like Brandon's, you'll have a very hard time getting that style. I have wavy hair but I've tried to get a style where my hair is straight and even across the back. To do that you have to style your hair with heat in one way or another and it doesn't last, especially in humid weather. Much better to find a style that you like and works with your natural hair.
What's up with u guys?!?!?

No one could achieve the great beauty which brandon boyds hair oozes. His hair is not curly, nor is it straight and I'm pretty sure that he doesn't use Brylcream. Maybe the reason why it is so undry looking is because he doesnt straighten it and doesn't wash it that often. In conclusion be happy with your own hair whether its frizzy, disgusting with huge flakes of dandruff because you can't change it. Deal with it!!!
See ya wouldn't want to have your hair!!!!

When I first grew my hair out, I had layered hair. I got the layered hair for the very reason of thinning it out. What a mistake!!! It was the hardest thing I had to endure! Then, I grew it out to all one length. Like Treyn stated, the awkward stage was difficult, but the weight really does hold it down. In fact, it held it down so much, I was concerned I was thinning!! Well, that was about 5 years ago, and I'm back in the awkward stage once again. Hang in there, it'll get better in time. As strange as it sounds, if you want it thinner, don't cut it at all!
I truly don't think he does anything.

His hair is thin, and in between being straight/wavy. Even in concert while soaking wet he's still got semi-straight hair. And it's thin.
I bet he doesn't like his own hair because it's thin. I'm guessing that's why he used to keep it "buzzed" down to his head.
He definitely doesn't have curly hair. Now the guy with the blonde/red hair has curly hair.
