I really think they've come out brilliantly. I especially like the second one.
Hope they heal up swiftly... no picking ;)

Yes, nice tats. Those will look very good on your skin when you are 60 years old. Congrats.

He was recently sitting here pondering the question of why people "destroy" their bodies with tatoos. I let him go for about 10 minutes before showing him the ones on each of my shoulders.
Then I got the "look"...the one that says "you're a girl. Guys get tattoos on their shoulders, not girls."...which is why I started with tats ON MY SHOULDERS. Not my rear, not shoulderblades. Shoulder. I plan to get 3 more one day (not all at the same time! :P), one on each shoulderblade and one on my calf.
Yeeooooouch!

You're a hell of a lot braver than I. I say this even though I would like to get a "Hazardous Waste" emblem between my shoulder blades. Great ink though!

I have a low pain threshhold but found getting tattooed between the shoulder blades was OK. The centre of my chest was another matter ..... (something to do with the number of nerve endings that meet there). Worth it though.
Where the two week/one month rule seems long enough regarding hair-cutting decisions I usually give it longer with a new tattoo unless I'm absolutely certain about the design. The inner peace with a new tattoo is awesome - it satisfies something deep in my soul.

Nice. What are you naming your right arm? HAHAHAHAHA - Okay, that was stupid.
Anyone see Jackass: The Movie where Steve-o got a giant portrait of himself tattooed on his back? It was awesome.

I wouldn't worry, exactly the same kind of jokes popped up in my head - but experience suggests that you should never voice them :)

Looking at the later posts these tattoos clearly mean a lot to you. Congratulations - they seem to represent celebration or maybe closure (it's none of my business I know). Tattoos are your soul coming to the surface (that sounds like psycho-babble but it's the best way I can put it).
The only reason for having tattoos that's dodgy (in my opinion) are when people have them as a fashion thing - my tattooist is amazed when people come in to the studio and ask him to choose a tattoo for them. He won't do it.
How's this for irony ? I had all my hair cut off in 2000(4 years growth) because I'd had a back piece done and it was hidden by my hair ! I loved my hair but that day I loved my new tattoo even more (lived to regret it though).
Awesome analogy...

I don't have any tattoos, but what you said there sounded so cool. Well put! What I would like to get if I ever had a tattoo done would be an American Flag background with a close-up of an Eagle flying in front with The Holy Bible in one of his talons. That's what I plan on getting put on my motorcycle gas tank. Peace!
