Oily hair rinsing...

My question is about oily hair and the rinsing only thing. I am thinking about dropping shampooing and going to just thorough warm water rinsing. I have tried this in the past and bombed out, but what they hey. Anyway, will warm water rinsing clean excessive oils out of the hair reducing build-up or will it just make it worse. My hair tends to get pretty oily three to four days after shampooing. Is not shampooing a credible thing or a dumb idea?

Well, if after a few to several days your hair is getting to oily then it's telling you that it needs another shampoo. Warm water will not do the same thing as shampoo. Are you creme rinsing every day? You may find that doing this will keep your hair cleaner than water but not as stripped as shampooing everyday.

My question is about oily hair and the rinsing only thing.
When I was just leaving the awkward stage I was intrigued by this idea and just had to give it a go. I ended up not washing my hair for about six or seven months.
Once you're past the first month you just get used to it. The problem is that greasy hair just doesn't hang the way it does when it's shampooed. You can comb and brush it and it will look fine for about half an hour - but then it'll start hanging in strands. Eventually, I decided enough was enough and decided to start using shampoo once a week, once more.
I'm glad I did it, though - since I'm convinced that those months of 'oiliness' did my hair some good. I certainly didn't have any trouble with split ends during that time, but I just prefer the way hair hangs when it's shampooed.
