genetic hair loss :(

Hi all,
I am that guy that asked for an advice on what to do when his housemaster wanted to make him cut his hair. (Then somebody got the wrong idea that I said that hippies and gays and junkies are all the same thing :) and equally "bad" remember now?) Well, in the end I had to cut it, but it is growing back :), not it is already 6 inches at the top.
Anyway, I am quite worried about hair loss. I think that my hair is thinning, especially on the sides on the top if you know what I mean(but I am not sure about this, maybe it is just because I cut my hair short). I am worried about this because my cousin, who is 25, is very very bold, he still has some hair lef but at 25 to be bold????? My father is not that bold, now he is 50, he is medium bold (he has more hair thatn my 25-year old cousin), but nothing unusual. My grandfather is 75, and is bold :) So, my question is: does anyone have any suggestions for me? What shall I do? All those products seem like fairytales to me, but does anyone have a good experience with them, who has genetic predispositions to be bold? I also heard that Vitamnis B (especially Biotin), Zinc and fish oil si good for hair, but I don't think that will help in my case. I am 18, and will be 19 in October.
Thank you for your replies!
P.S. I did browse the archives, but could only get the threads, and no replies.

There s 3 kind of hair for men. The hairy freaks who have so much hair it s out of the question they ll ever loose hair. the average male who will thin at various degree mainly on the top front sides. And the last category are the balders, who are going bald no doubt about it. You are probably of the average male type and ur hair thining is a natural growing phase and will continu as you age. I m 25 and have lot s of hair but i m receeding a little on the side but it s not apparent at all unless i push my hair back and even then it's minor. I had the same anxiety as you at one point. But then i talked to some older men who were pretty much bald and they all told me that they had n t as much hair as i do now when they were my age. And i have looked into my familly (my dad is very bald) and found that i had the hair of the men in my mothers familly. So looking at my uncles gave me an idea of what i should expect in hair loss. So i suggest u do the same, talk about it with older men or with ur cousin and they ll tell you by their experience and compare your style of hair to someone in ur familly, hairs have personality and it s much likely that ur hair have a personality close to someone in your familly, so check in ur familly and compare u should get some answers.

First of all, thank you very much for answering. The thing is, I can't change my genes. If I am destined to lose my hair, I will lose it, and having it long or short will make no difference. So, I will definitely keep it growing. My hairdresser (I see him very rarely :) ) told me that he had a friend who literary lost all his hair in one month.
I was just wondering if anyone managed to slow this genetic thing down somehow (e.g. Minoxidil, in fact I will open a new topic so that the people see it), but I guess not. Since my hair is curly, I can only associate myself with my grandfather, who is pretty much bold now, but when he was younger (up to 40), he had normal hair.
