Days like this...

Today's one of those "saturated air" days here in Boston, where there's a mist suspended in the air. My hair is extremely thick and normally wavy/bordering on curly. On days like these, it just becomes frizzy and huge. Other than wearing a bandana or tying it back, are there any recommendations you all can make, i.e. products that won't make it greasy or crunchy, but keep it from going Bozo the Clown on me?
Thanks!

Dan: correctly applied, a light coating of American Crew Fiber smoothed over your damp/dry hair (once you have it placed the way you want it) will keep it from frizzing, dry without making your hair crunchy and, because it has a matte finish (as opposed to a shiny one), leaves your hair looking as if there is no product on it at all. Good luck!
P.S. Found your Boston stylist yet?

Thanks for tip, Bruce. I'll check it out. I have used their shampoo and like the smell very much.

Not a single response! If I had a car, I'd come see you in NH...

I'm about 1 hour south of Boston, and we've got the same humid, misty weather today, and I also have a problem when there's a lot of moiture in the air. But, ever since I started using Pro-V shampoo & conditioner, it's been a whole lot better - considerably less frizzy. It hasn't been the cure-all, but it is an improvement.
This time of year has usually been my downfall, when the weather makes having long hair somewhat unbearable, especially when your going through the "awkward stage", which is usually where I am at this time of year after growing my hair over the winter.
This year I've made myself an absolute promise that I will not cut it. This year, partly because of the fact that my hair is much better since using the Pro-V, and secondly, because I really, really, really want to have long hair. And the only way I'm ever going to have long hair is if I don't cut it. It's now about 9" and I've found that the longer it gets, the more I love it and the more I can't wait for it to grow a lot longer.

I don't live far from Boston and am experiencing the same weather conditions...
Melting Gel seems to work with the rain and drizzle as
my hair is not frizzy and it is still in place.
Rain and dampness do not mix well with natural hair oils...or ANY oils
for that matter.
So that might be the reason why the hair reacts to this kind of weather.
