Any guys also growing long sideburns?

I've decided to experiment by growing my sideburns really long. Right now, they extend all the way down the side of my face and continue under my jawline. But I'm also letting the hair itself grow long. Right now the hair is about an inch long off my face. (It lays down and flat mostly rather that sticking straight out from my face.) Right now I'm thinking to just let them grow indefinitely and see how long they will get. A guy behind the counter at a local coffee house (who also had kinf of long sideburns) complimented me on them and said they looked cool, so that encouraged me to let them grow much longer.
I was just wondering if any other guys are doing the same, or if anybody knows of guys doing the same and can point me at some pics to see for more encouragement.

The classic example of long sideburns has to be
Quentin Collins on the old show "Dark Shadows."
If you do a google search you should be able to find
a few pics. Google will hoepuflly give you
some pics to "sink your teeth into."

Well, his were mutton chops and not just sideburns. Chops cover more of the face and actually have a "pork chop" shape. No, I'm talking about just long sideburns.
I just rememberd that many years ago now (probably at least a decade), Danzig (the guy from the heavy metal band) had really long sideburns to the point where the hair from his 'burns just blended into his long head hair, i.e., it was several inches long.
Recent pics of him don't show him woth long 'burns, but I found the image show in this message.

I'm always letting some part of my facial hair grow to extreme lengths, including my sideburns. I have grown huge sideburns which extended all the way down onto my neck, shaving only a one inch wide area between them under my chin. These have been allowed to grow untrimmed for several years. The individual hairs once grew so long that I could pull each sideburn back under my ears and simply include them with my waist length mane in a ponytail. The huge chops constantly got tangled up in the 50 to 60 earrings I sometimes wear, so I lopped them off a while back. Unfortunately, I never got pics before parting with them:( My current project is a huge 'stache and very long goatee - much better for my continuing ear piercing project.

I've got long sideburns and a fu manchu 'stache as well. Now that I can muster an 8" ponytail, I've decided I like the look. I've changed my goal re the taillength. I was shooting for about 10", but now have decided to go for 12-15" (probably closer to 15").
I am sideburn deficient

Are you an X-Men fan? Wolverine has a well-developed set of sideburns!
My sideburns won't grow. In spite of my being incredibly hairy all over my body I don't have significant sideburn growth. Any sideburn coverage I have is really just head hair that I allow to grow down to cover the blank space in front of my ears. This is the sideburn equivelent of a "comb-over"! I have a full beard, thick hair on my neck (front AND back), one continuous eyebrow (unless I tweeze it), hair on and in my nose and on and in my ears but I have bare patches where my sideburns should be! My thick beard stops abruptly about 1/4 inch (5mm) from my ear. It hasn't caused me too much grief since I don't much subscribe to fashion trends.

There are two ways of having log sideburns. One is to extend the area you don't shave down past your ears as far as you want to go, the other is not to trim the hair in the sideburns at whatever length you decide on. You can do both, of course.
I grew my sideburns about 25 years ago, before I grew out the rest of my hair fully. The hair is much thicker - a useful substitute for wire - and is not as easy to wash as the rest of my hair, as it seems resistant to suds.
Good luck with the experiment.

I am definitely doing both. The first part is easy and doesn't take long. Mine curve under my jawline. The second part takes a while just like waiting for head hair to grow. But I'm gonne grow the hair long. I have no set length in mind since I've never grown them really long before so I don't know how it will look. But just like with head hair, the longer they get, the longer I will want to let them grow (probably).
: Good luck with the experiment.
Thanks! :-)

Yes! Sideburns and long hair go together nicely. I love that look. Extreme sideburns or a fu manchu look so great, I can't even tell you.
