I RECENTLY GOT MY HAIR CHEMICALLY STRAIGHTENED, WHICH WAS AN ABSOLUTELY HUGE MISTAKE B/C IT'S MORE WORK THEN EVER BEFORE. I HAVE TO INTENSLY BLOWDRY IT AND PULL ON IT W/ A BRUSH EVERY TIME I WASH IT, SO THAT IT DOESN'T LOOK RIDICULOUS. THE REASON WHY IT'S WORSE IS B/C IT DIDN'T FULLY STRAIGHTEN WHEN I HAD IT DONE, SO I HAVE SOME STRAIGHT BITS AND SOME WAVY BITS. I CAN'T STAND THE EXTRA WORK OR MY ACTUAL HAIR, AND WANT TO GET IT STRAIGHTENED AGAIN, BUT THAT JUST MEANS MORE DAMAGE, AND I CERTAINLY DON'T WANT TO CUT IT ALL OFF. WHAT DO I DO????????????HHHHHEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't want to cut it, or you will lose all the progress you have made, so just wear it tied back, and most of the strngeness of the look will disappear. Just let the natural growth continue until it is long enough to cut out any damaged bits.
Maybe straightening wasn't such a good idea - I have lived with wavy hair for 48 years and have become used to it.
Good luck
What kind of straightener did you use?
