Ive been growing mine from a basically skin buzz a few months short of a year. If you started with fairly short hair, almost touching your shoulders sounds just about right. Id be fortunate if my hair is nearly touching my shoulders at 21 months, as i have curlier hair. What hair type is yours?? How long was it when you began growing?? have you got it trimmed or anything else done to it? Otherwise, it sounds like your hair is growing normally.....how many inches is it by the way??? My guess is about 9 inches or so.....
Right On Target...

First off, the average overall rate of growth for human head hair is a 1/2 inch per month. So, 21 months at a 1/2 inch of growth per month = 10 1/2 inches. From a buzz cut this would put your bangs just shy of touching your shoulders. I know this because I measured with a measuring tape 10 1/2 inches down my face from the top of my forehead. Your right on target if you started with a buzz/skinhead cut. Sounds like your moving right along, bro! Peace! (by the way, I'm jealous)
