Need encouragement bald to long

Two weeks ago I decided I wanted long hair again. I've been bald or close buzzed for the last 10 years(in my 30's) and had long hair the previous 10 years(in my 20's). Now I'm 41 and want to experience long hair once again! Right now I'm so tempted to go to the barber and say "take it all off". It's bothering me alot since I'm so used to being bald. Yet I know the longer I let it get, the more I'll want to let it grow. In about 2 months once it starts to cover the ears, I think I'll be hooked. Getting to there is the problem. This time around I do have some MPB(not severe though) and graying hair. Both of these issues make me think that I shouldn't let my hair grow out but something inside of me is still saying to do it. Looking for encouragement and men who have been in this situation before or who currently are. Thanks in advance, Scott

I know a hairstlist who is basically as you described yourself except...
that he is in his 60s with white hair and a nice ponytail.
It looks good on him and now he has a short white beard to match.
It will take time, but if this is what you truly desire...
it will happen...

I find that if I can find other things to occupy my time, my hair tends to psychologically grow faster, if you know what I mean. I guess what I am saying here is, the less you concentrate on your hair, the better you will be able to handle the growing. Pretty soon you'll look in the mirror and it will have grown down over your ears completely. This happened to me. My hair is now just below my ear lobes and it doesn't seem like all that long ago when I could barely pull any hair over the top of my ears. Good Luck and just let it go man. It really doesn't take that long to get places. Take a one a day suppliment vitamin also. It will maintain your mazimum growth speed. Peace!
