Clerical/Office
I have noticed that more public jobs (Mcdonald's, banks, convenience stores, etc.) are more tolerate of long hair on men than there used to be.
But I do know there are still a few who are prejudice about it. Luckily those are becoming less and less all the time.

What a joke! This site is now asking for money. How sad. Now they are placing fake ads on here making people think others are still writing in. I don't expect you jokers to run this reponse, but you sure as hell read it.

Since I went long ten years ago I've worked as a drug and alcohol counselor in the DUI state prison, as a counselor at a 90 day residential treatment center for alcoholics and addicts, a mobile crisis counselor, a therapist at a walk in psychiatric center, a therapist working with alcoholics, addicts, and sex offenders on probation, a counselor at a Navajo Nation 90 day residential treatment center for alcoholics, and as a therapist at an outpatient mental health center. I also volunteered in Federal prison and with the fire department.
I don't think it has to do with any job or field. It has to do with the attitude of the company's ownership and/or management. Controlling intrusive boundryless managers are not gonna be accepting of long hair or a bazillion other things. Don't work for them. Walk out of the interview if they mention you need to cut it. Before I tip my hand I like to tell them I left something off my application that I just remembered and ask to see it so I can add the information. Once its in my hands I walk out then. They bluster, but its my application and their control issues.
There are too many open accepting owners and managers in most any business that accept, or even welcome, long hair. Go find them. Life is too short to work anywhere else.
