Dear Friends,
I am a doctor and I consult in nursing homes in North Carolina. I saw a magazine directed to the hair stylists who must be present in all long term care facilities, and asked if I could look at it. I disocvered the most amazing contents directed toward men:
The magazine is called MODERN SALON, Issue June 2003
Picture on cover is a handsome black male with short cut.
Pictures on advertising insert between pages 32- 33 featured men and a headine "Just for Him>" on page 33.
Ad on page 62 featured "guy gear."
Article on p. 88 featuring man called "Crop & Color."
Article on p. 106-109 captioned "Front Man."
And More.
Guys, we have arrived!

I am sorry, but I do not understand what this has to do with "Long Hair", since you made no mention of it anywhere in your post. Instead you mentioned a "handsome black male with a short cut".
Same here... (n/t)

Take it from a men's grooming resource center (www.brgallagher.com) which gave up it subscription to Modern Salon years ago: that publication (and a myriad of copycats) is of the people, by the people and for the people of an industry segment which believes the ONLY way to style hair is to CUT it. Guys, you really don't want to have "arrived" on the pages of that magazine! Believe me!
My sentiments exactly...

I went to their website and all their magazine articles headings indicated to me that it was chop this & chop & color that...
It's certainly NOT a place for Longhairs!

As far as men's hair styles going beyond the short cropped, slicked back look, we reached that point over thirty years ago.
