Hair Behind Ears

I've been growing my hair for about 8 months, and along the way, I noticed that my hair has a tendency to curl upwards the longer it gets. Now, I've always put excess hair behind my ears, especially now that if I take it out, it curves outward like wings.
Eventually I've told myself that I'd take the hair out from behind my ears, but it never works. At this point, if my hair didn't curl so much, it would be at least an inch and a half below my ear.
Is there anyway to fix this situation, or will it fix itself eventually?

well, if you dont put it behind your ears, it wonts curl up like that. after you take a shower, just make an effort to leave it be and it will dry without curling out around the ears.

I will answer your question in two ways. First being a long term solution. The answer is yes. As your hair gets longer, the weight of it will cause it to hang down and not "wing" out. However, depending on the texture of your hair, this could be a long wait. The easier solution is to try using gel and/or a blowdryer. When you get out of the shower, towel-dry your hair and then run some gel through it. Use a brush and a blowdryer set on either cool or medium to dry your hair completely straight. This should eliminate the problem. However, wind and humidity can easily destroy that whole process.
