i have serious problems with my hair. its not too long right now (just above eye length for the bangs, and i push the rest around my ears), but i want to grow it about kurt cobain length (around the chin all around. heres the problem- my hair is extremely dry and poofy, as you could have gathered from the title of this post. right after it dries form shampooing/conditioning it, it gets really poofy(sticks out really bad)and it is horribly dry. i want silky smooth hair, but i dont know how to get it

Heed my advice, you should, young padawan... Your hair, like Kurt Cobain, do not attempt to emulate. Fail, you will. From experience, I know well.
Two heads of hair, the same, there are none.

hey dude...i too have that problem and it sucks! I bet you find after a day or so after washing, it is more presentable right? Back when I was going through this I first and foremost got it trimmed to tidy it up (you MUST find a sympathetic stylist who will help you in your growing efforts mine is great and shes quite hot too:)) anyway, secondly, Kurt also had one of those evil 90's things called an UNDERCUT. I also had one of those in the 90's -hey they were comfortable! not an extreme undercut, just a little off the back and about an inch over my ears. Anyway, just while you are growing your hair so it is long enough to tie-back you might want to try having one done, you can always grow them out again like i have.
Anymore poofy hair related questions I am more than happy to answer..my hair is soooo bad for that!
