Giving Up - Sort Of

I've been growing my hair for 15 months now. Well, I've been TRYING to grow my hair. Unfortunately, I also have this burning passion for live theatre, and if I don't do a show now and then, I die. Well, in January I had to trim the back a couple of inches because of a show, but since it was all just slicked back, the rest was okay. Then in May I had to trim the sides (but fortunatly not the top) to make it more in balance (and less Prince Valiant-like) with the back. I'm just so discouraged and so tired that I'm ready to stop waiting.
However, I ended up meeting a guy who has a salon where, instead of getting it cut, I'm going to get extensions - I call it my "Lord Of The Rings" hair. I have no idea if this will turn out to be a good idea or a bad idea, but he assures me that if I just hate the extensions, they can be taken out with no harm done to my existing hair.
I'll try to take a few photo documents, although I don't know that any of my messages ever show up on this board, so probably no one reading this board will know anyway and it won't matter.

Extensions are used by many actors, and they claim
that when well done, it is impossible to tell whether
or not the hair is your own!
