Been neglecting my hair.

It's beginning to show. I haven't been taking vitamins or deep conditioning the ends.
My ends are beginning to look dry.
I let my mom cut another 1/2" off the ends to straighten it a bit more.
Then a week later I had a nightmare that I told her to trim it again. She decided to take care of all the split ends. It looked as if it was in 3 tiers. I was crying. I had a 1" section that was to my waiste, the rest was hacked.
I don't think I'll let her cut it again for a while! LOL
How...

How can you have split ends? Do you go out in the sun a lot? Otherwise
a decent shampoo and conditioner should take care of things!
I have no split ends and that's with daily washings, gels, etc.
Giood luck!

The damage has been done. I'm just taking care of it every 3-4 months at a time with a 1/2" trim.
It's evening out the back at the same time. I was parting my hair and pulling it to the front on each side to self-trim it every now and then, so it came to a "V" in the back (don't trust anyone with a pair of scissors except my mom). I'm working on getting it straight in the back now.
With it being straight in the back it's beginning to look fuller. The top IS getting fuller with all new hair growth. There's something to be said for NOT chemically treating your hair!
