is it the 14 day rule? Day 1 is today!

Hey everyone,
I haven't posted on the board for well over 6 months if not longer. I'm still lurking and reading the post. I'm having a hard time with the awkward phase and am considering chopping it all off and returning to my normal buzz cut.
It just seems like all the 'flak' for lack of a better word I’m getting is bringing me down. For starters I’ve been yelled at a few times and called 'gay' cause of my hair or called a girl. I actually confronted one of the guys and he turned away like the pathetic person he is. It doesn't bother me much but I’m just tired of attracting the attention because of my hair.
I’m really laid back and don't care much what people think of me, but at this point I’m a little down and out!
I'm at the year and a half mark and realize that I’m still in the awkward phase (at the tail end of it…. get it the ‘tail end’ :-)
I just needed to write it down.
Go For It

If that's really what you want to do, I recommend (as you're doing) honoring the 14-day rule. If the idea seems like nonsense two weeks from now, then keep growing it. It's not like I haven't caught flak for my hair (I'm seventeen, with two older siblings, and my hair is almost elbow-length), I've been called "gay" and a "girl" and things like that, but don't let it get you down too much.

Don't let the flack get you down. How much do you really care about the opinions of strangers like that? I might consider changing my hair length based on the opinions of people I really respect, or who care for me or whom I care for. But don't give in to random strangers like that.

I would think that it is a bit more difficult as a teenager still in school to grow their hair out. Kids can be cruel and you probably will face them each day when school starts back up in the Fall. However, make sure you are doing what you want to do and not what others want you to do. It is your hair, not theirs. The people calling you names, well, they are not mature and have their own personal issues that bother them, so they look for others to pick on to make them feel just a bit better. How strong you are inside will depict whether you cut your hair or keep growing it. You say you don't care what others think, but yet, what others are saying is causing you to change your mind. Which is it?
Im in high school too

Im entering my sophmore year in high school and I get teased a lot about hair even though im just in the akward stage. I don't care much because I have an "if you don't like it go to hell" attitude. Stay strong man, don't give a thought about what people say.
