setting hair
Posted by jan michaels on May 09, 1997 at 21:48:13:
When I was about 18 I started to have my hair set at salons. It has really been fun to go in and ask hairdressers to set my hair in a variety of styles. I love to see their reaction when I ask for that special look. I also like to interact with other customers in the salon. Sometimes I will also have makeup application as well. Every time I have my hair set and I sit under the dryer it is an exciting experience for me. My favorite part though is having the rollers taken out, having my hair teased really, really high, and styled in a very femmine style. I always want it to be totally obvious that my hairstyle belongs to a beautiful youn lady. Do others feel this way?

Jan and Paul -- why not share some photos with us? We would love to see you both in rollers, as well as the pretty styles you have done.

Please see my other message on this topic. As far as trading pictures, why don't you guys that have lots of pictures send them in to me so that I can post them here? For some reason, a lot of you seem to have pictures but want to trade them instead of sending them to me to post to everyone. Don't you see that by sending them to me everyone would get more pictures faster? Is there something I'm missing? Is there some reason why the pictures should not be on a web page?

Yes I love to go to the hairdresser and get my hair done. I have my hair reaching down to the waist and I have it curled.
I'm going to the dresser at least once a month to keep my hair fresh and in a girly style. When i have my hair rolled I always also have a face make-up. I always like to have the feeling of a beutiful female look.

I've been going to beauty salons for over 20 years now. I especially love to get my hair done in the styles of the 60's - lots of teasing and lots of curls. Having relatively short hair I some times use wiglets. This way I can be much more versitle. Updos with curls piled high on the top with hanging curls falling off the back.
If anyone else is interested in feminine roller sets lets try to get a discussion group going

I'd welcome such a group -- perhaps we could start an IRC channel or some such thing.
How about some pictures of your pretty 'dos??

There is a pretty active IRC channel on Undernet for hair-related topics. One thing about IRC, you can start a channel on a whim. If a lot of people frequent the channel, it's probably a good idea to get it registered. For now, though, I suggest having an informal channel.
Here is what I propose. Every time I get on the #hair2 channel of Undernet, I will also start a channel called #longhairedmen. If anybody happens along that is also interested in this topic, join in. If not, enjoy the conversation at #hair2. I will begin doing this immediately.
Usually, the channel is active starting around 8PM Central. Updates and instructions on how to access an IRC channel will be posted here shortly.

Here are instructions for using IRC (Internet Relay Chat). You will need to download some IRC software. The most popular, and the one that I use is mIRC
I hope to see you there. I have included a link to the mIRC home page for your convenience.
