'natural' part?
Posted by Oversurf on August 10, 2003 at 16:51:43: Previous Next
Awhile ago on this board someone (sorry - forget who) mentioned
he got his hair trimmed at a salon and the person doing the
trimming 'found his natural part' (or something like that).
So, umm, how does one find his natural part? I'm inclined to
think you just don't comb it and that zig-zag line across your
head is your natural part :-)

well i'm not sure about natural part, and i dont mean to take away from your question but i have one of my own.
I have shoulder length hair and when I part it one side goes straight down and the other goes out and then down. So they're not equal. I try to make the part further towards the out & straight side but it still is off. ACK. Any other way to make them even? Finding my natural part or what?

Wow, 'Archive', what a concept! I'll try to use that before asking
questions again. :-)
Thanks for the info -

: Possibly you refer to a comment I made. I used to have a natural part, but have lost it. Unfortunately I got a perm about a year ago, and this resulted in my trimming my hair, and I am now back to about eight inches.
Previuously when I combed my hair straight back, I only had to push the top part to the right and it fell into a natural part on the left side just above my eye. I left my previous stylist, because it was so difficult to get an appointment with him, but I am going to go back and discuss this with him.
I think what it amounts to is finding the ideal part, and then trimming the shorter side 1/2" shorter than the longer side. I think. I hope. Now I have to comb my hair forward and make several tries until I find an acceptable part.
If I do not part my hair, and pull it back it looks to severe. With the part, it falls into natural waves.
