2-in-one shampoos
Posted by Lashbear on August 11, 2003 at 06:07:41: Previous Next
Hi all !
My first post, and I hope *fingers crossed* that it's not one that's been done to death !
I am wondering if instead of shampooing each day with conditioner only, whether or not the "2-in-one" type shampoos might be effective.
I don't seem to have too much of a problem with oilyness so far, but it hasn't hit summer yet !
I haven't posted a pic as yet, because my hair is still only 2.5" long (I started off from basically a #2 buzz-cut) but it's starting to look "70's" according to my workmates ! *sheesh*.
I will post a recent pic soon, but in the meantime, if anyone can help about the combo-shampoo that would be great !! (we have Pert here in Australia - that's the one I was thinking of).
Love all your pics, and look forward to chatting with all of you !
Cheers,
Rob. :o)

Actually shampoo & conditioner in one bottle does not help the hair much. Instead buy separate bottles of shampoo conditioner. I'm not a big fan of two-in-one shampoo and conditioners. Surely these, the bread and water of haircare, should at least be done properly, and separately.

Welcome to the board ! I think the received wisdom here is to avoid the 2in1 shampoos and always use separate products - the best quality ones you can afford. I've never used the all-in-ones (other than VERY rarely) so I suppose I can't really comment.

I think the question here has to do with the fact that Lashbear feels
washing daily with CONDITIONER ALONE is not a good thing for him,,,
and that perhaps he needs a little 'more' cleansing power.
Maybe on the days when you usually wash with conditioner only...
you could add just a bit of shampoo TO the conditioner you are ALREADY using?
This would add a bit more cleaning power to your 'washing with conditioner only' days.
Of course, nothing can replace a good shampooing, at least once in a while!
Good Luck!

2-in-1-shampoos arenīt good for your scalp and hair! Shampoo cleans it and Conditioner gives the hair back what it needs...It isnīt possible to do this with the same, you also couldnīt clean your skin with a body lotion!

Rob,

I think the 2-in-1 shampoos are marketed to people that are in a hurry
and don't want to spend the extra 60 seconds it would take to use two
separate products. :-) Experiment and see what works best for your hair
but for me, it's 1-in-one.
Shampoo and conditioner in the same bottle is like spreading
toothpaste on your pepperoni pizza and expecting fresh breath.
