hi all im a 20 yr old guy i have thick, long light brown hair a little past the shoulders id ratherwear my hair down i like doing that and thats what i do mostly when do i put it up in a pony tail its hard what is the easiest procedure for how i put it in a masculin elooking pony tail it seems like i have an extra layer of hair or somethin i used to have an undercut a few years ago but its grown out underneath now, im wondering if i should get a very small section underneath cut short the thing is im afraid to have the person who cuts my hair do that because one time she did that and shaved off some long hair underneath with the clippers im kinda trying to avoid a "trim" for a while i havent had one in 13 months and my hair seems fine im concerned because if i ask her to cut just a half inch off, what she'll do is add a little "extra" and it woudl lead to afull inch or even more i figure ill maybe get a trim in late winter or early spring 2004 my other question is.... how do u get an accurate measurement for ur hair? how can u measure it accurately?

Suggestion #1: Don't fix what isn't broken

Suggestion #2: Stay away from stylists...er, make that ANYONE...who doesn't listen and give you EXACTLY what you want ESPECIALLY someone with whom you have already had one bad experience. Make sense?

Not one single period in a whole paragraph of text. Wow. In any case, holding a ruler next to one's hair should give one an accurate measurement.

As a future English teacher, naughty Brad!
As a fan of longhairs, stick to low ponytails (at the nape of the neck). Also, it would do you good to find a stylist who has long hair himself. A friend of mine does this, and he's never had a problem getting what he wants. Otherwise, don't get in the chair until the stylist completely and fully understands your needs; get the heck out of there if s/he starts hacking away. Bad haircuts are traumatic!! Good luck.

I concur, Jenn. What is it with kids these days? ;-)
