As I have a big oil production at my scalp I wonder if my eating habits could be the reason. Is this possible?

Junk food is a great promoter of oil production...
at least it is for me.
More fruits & vegetables!
Good luck!

No. It's an old wives' tale similar to the one about junk food prducing acne. It's hormones and body chemistry. HOWEVER, your hair will grow healthier, stronger and shinier with proper diet, exercise and sufficient water consumption.

Actually, the cause of acne is incompletely understood, but you're right. It does seem to be exacerbated by hormones.
I disagree, though, that oil production is not influenced by diet. Maybe it's psychosomatic, but when I was around 10 years old, I noticed that my face got really greasy after we had pork for lunch.
Also, anything that will make you sweat will increase oil production, since the two are produced in concert.

i think eating habits can have an affect on hair.
years ago i used to eat a LOT of Junk food (burgers, fries, deep fried chicken used to be one of my main food groups LOL) and aside from being overweight my hair was really dry and my scalp was really greesy and itchy,
now my body and hair are both in much better shape
it really seems to me that the phrase "you are what you eat" does apply, if you put unhealthy stuff in your body then unhealthy stuff with come out of your body, same as if you eat healthy then your body will be healthy
and that includes your hair
