I am wondering if you can give me your opinion:
I am from Spain, i have straight long hair , it reaches my mid-back, i am planning to go to the USA, i am going to study english , maybe find work,i plan to stay about 8 months in America but i don't know if the fact that i have long hair will make things harder ( you know discrimination) i know that most of american people are nice people but i ask all the Americans if things will be easier if i cut my hair?
Sorry for my bad english! and thank you for your time !

I have long hair past my sholders and I did not have any trouble finding a job. But I live in Maryland and things might be different in other places around the US. I get very little discrimination for my hair, and I don't think you will get much either. Keep it long. Your english is better than you think.

With long hair plus an accent Americans would probably think you are an exotic personality...
and actually be attracted to you!
Good Luck!

Yes, there are some in the USA who would discriminate -- thankfully, those people are still the minority, especially in big cities like Denver. I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, about a 6 hour drive south of Denver. I find it ironic that the previous post insists that you would do "much better" because America is supposed to be about freedom -- this is the reason they severed their ties to England over 200 years ago. I can't imagine how anybody can stand up for America and yet try to enforce a strict standard for personal appearance!! Those people should really go and live in a dictatorship for a while.
