L'oreal Melting Gel!!

OK here's my story:
I have really thick, curly hair and need to have some sort of gel in my hair now (until I get the pony tail length). Since I started growing my hair out I had used loeral melting gel. In Europe this does not exist (the "same" gel has alcohol in it which dries up my hair), so over summer when I was there I had to use other gels. I use some garnier wet look gel... it does nothing... It just look a bit wet but my hair was still huge. I came here (US) again and I used pantene curl defining scrunching gel... it does nothing... just looks big when my hair dries again and dries it up...
Loreal melting gel... keeps hair moist.. .makes it "fall down"... the only downside it's a bit sticky... but it has no alcohol, does not dry my hair and makes it look great...
If you need a gel get that... I have try the rest, Loreal is tha best...

I agree: L'Oreal MELTing Gel is super-slick when applied and
it can make your hair hang very nicely.
You didn't mention SHINE...but it does add that too.
For GRAY HAIR: It can tame those little flyaway, curly and often nasty
dry gray hairs.
Just apply Gel to palms of hands and slide across the surface
area of your hair in the direction of growth.
(Sometimes you must add more than one coating).
At times (as with many gels) there is some stickiness (depending on how
MUCH you add. YOU have complete control over this: Add a little
for a bit of control...add MORE for extra control.
On WINDy days, for instance, I add more for extra control & shine.
Sure, it may be a bit more stiff, but it really holds those flyaways in place!
I have tried MANY, MANY different Gels...and was mostly disappointed by most of them.
L'Oreal never let me down...and that's why I have come to rely on it.
My hair can get very DRY looking at times, but the MELTing Gel
does, as you mentioned, moisturize very nicely.
I have a tail, but i still use this gel for its softening and moisturizing qualities.
This Gel willNOT work for everybody, but it is fantastic for certain kinds of hair, at least.
Thanx for sharing your experience with us...and...
Good Luck!

I'm trying the Melting Gel right now for the first time, since everyone here seems to love it. I really like the way my hair feels: very soft and natural, no clumpy, knottiness or stickiness that you get from many other gels, but I am finding so far that it's not a great moisture barrier. That is, if the heat gets to it either from the sun or from my body temp/sweat, it goes frizzy and wispy. I may try using it later in the day as a touch up before I go out at night, but so far, I'm not sold on it for curl definition.

also: L'Oreal Liquid SPRAY Gel (in a pump bottle) compliments
the effects of the MELTing Gel...perfectly!
Great for touch-ups throughout the day. Extra control for tough spots
and gray stray hairs.
