gotta question for everyone

I've been reading some of the threads here and particularly those regarding discrimination against long hairs, stereotypes as well as the replys to my previous post.
Do any of you think there could be a possible conspiracy against longhaired men?
the reason I ask this is because the way we're all perpetrated in the media the majority of the time and the so-called results of polls such as the one suggesting that "short haired men as more virile".

I dunno about a conspiracy, but there are certainly prejudices. This "verile" thing I have some theories about...
A lot was made about bald men being more verile, turns out its actually an alergy to testostorone that can cause alopaecia (spelling), rather than a significant increase in the hormonal levels [or so I read.]
But consistently the media portrays the short haired man as the hero character and long hairs are either "dumb badie henchmen" or lay-abouts with nothing better to do. This kind of portrayal has a subliminal impact on people and it doesn't really give long hairs a great base to start from.
But hey, at least we ain't alergic to our own juice!
I don't think so...

I do not believe there is a conspiracy against Longhairs...
in fact, I sometimes feel there is even a hint of 'jealousy'
by those shorthairs who do double-takes at my hair!
And speaking of 'virile'... what about Samson with his Delilah?
and not to mention Pirates...& all the native American men!

Not an across the board conspiracy. There are a lot of different people, cultures, etc. in the world.
There ARE groups of people who have certain criteria that they want other people to meet but short hair is always just one of those and doesn't meet the standard of a conspiracy by itself.
The closest you can come is probably the military where they actively force you to have little to no hair at all (for men and excluding "in-country" special forces). Their requirements for modern warefare have become the "standard" for society lately because young men are trained to develope certain grooming habits and tend to keep them when they come back from war or leave the service. Many many men served in several wars this last century.
