hi, i'm a non frequent post-er on this board but i was wondering, i have heard about this pantene "intensive restoration treatment" and how it's supposed to reconstruct/fill the gaps in damaged hair and i was wondering if anyone had tried it or a similar product and what the results have been, does it really work or is damaged hair the end of the road?

Being a chick, I've tried just about every product I can think of, especially for damaged hair (coloring is the culprit). I've used products like these, and my hair has appeared healthier and such. However, as far as I know, you can't fix things like split ends, but you can get products that seal the cuticle of the hair and make it look healthier and shinier (actually, rinsing in cold water will do this quite nicely). But damage is damage. Hair is not alive and can't repair itself, regardless of what you do to it. You can make what length you have look nice very easily, but extreme damage like split ends needs to be cut off.
