Regarding The Shampoo Discussions

I've been a longhair since the 70s. In that time, I've managed to learn a lot about what it takes to take care of hair and to make hair look its best.
I see a lot of discussion regarding shampoos. In my experience...and note that we all have different hair...it's not the shampoo that really matters. It's not even the conditioner. It's what you AFTER you wash your hair and get out of the shower.
I'm talkin' leave-in conditioners. THAT'S what makes hair look good.
I use Suave shampoo and conditioner. It works just as well as any of the expensive stuff you find in any of the fancy places.
Look into using a leave-in conditioner if you're having trouble with your hair. I use a "cocktail" of several inexpensive and moderately priced items. I also use a straightening iron from time to time. My hair usually looks and feels very nice and draws a lots of compliments.
Also, for those with poofy or frizzy hair, shampoo twice a week. It'll help. I shampoo on Sundays and Wednesdays. In addition, do a deep conditioning once a month. You can use regular ol' plain ol' mayonnaise. Put it in, comb through, put on a shower cap, leave on for an hour or so, then wash out. It'll do wonders for you. Use the regular mayo, not fat free or reduced fat. It's the fat that helps!
And as Treyn used to say...keep it long - right or wrong!
:-)
Thanks, bro... !

Hey Rokker, thanks for the plug on that line. I haven't used that one in quite a while. Peace!

Good to see you back, I wasn't sure if it was really you since there was no email address listed.
We got your hello to the board from a guy that talked to you at a Best Buy (or some place) awhile back.
There has been several guys who have left permanently and a number that haven't been heard from in a while and lots of new ones and the usual throngs of one-poster newbies.

Yeah, I'm back!
Yeah, I ran into some guy at Best Buy a few months back, and he was ranting and raving about my hair and telling me I look like Ian Astbury (when he had hair). That must be the guy you're talking about. I told him about this board and that you can usually get some decent advice here. Glad to see he passed on my "hi" to everyone.
