At what length will I finally be able to a split in my hair without having to use gel,right now my hair is 4 inches long and I have to use gel.

i'm not quite sure what you mean, but i guess whenever you can tuck it behind your ears lol.

Just out of curiosity: why would you want to "force" a split by using gel? I'd say just slick it back or something because splitting it will make you look goofy. Once the hair reaches a certain length it'll part by itself and it'll look natural. Another no-no is tucking it behind your ears when it's not long enough.

What I mean is to do that middle part,i call it splitting the hair,down the middle,well I guess I'll just have to wate and see how long it takes.

I started gelling a split in the middle at about 1 inch, and only when the bangs are behind your ear length will it stay tidy
