Melting Gel Bonanza!!!

I made a post about a brush recently but it didnt show up... we'll see if it does later... anyway
Well it looks like I may be trying something new. I always hated gels but reading all this stuff on the board made me think maybe I should give Loreals Melting Gel a chance. If you guys say it does make it "touchably soft" and it holds hair down well, I figure it may be worth a shot.
Do you guys think it would be a good idea? Well a few more questions... My hair is about 3-4 inches long, and they say not to touch it while the gel is drying... how long should it take my hair to dry? And also, while I want a smooth sleek look, I dont want it to really look like there is too much in it. To add to that, I want my hair to lie down on my head, but I also actually like the way it curls up on the ends, behind my ears and stuff, could I still get this effect? Next, should you both shampoo and condition before use? And finally, what is it like after youve slept on it and stuff, when you wake up in the morning is it still in good condition?
Sorry for all the questions but I appreciate the answers! Keep it growing boys(and girls)!

Got me through ALL the 'phases'!
L'Oreal MELTing Gel (Studio FX) can BE almost ANYTHING you want it to be!
Add just a little to damp hair and you will hardly notice it is there
(except for the nice extra shine and a little extra control)
For a wet look with a strong hold...add a lot...
It's really up to you...
You can have a soft, silky 'feel' or a stronger anti-wind effect...
just by adjusting the amount you add to your hair.
NEVER greasy. Rinses off your hands with water and some rubbing.
I used it from the very BEGINNING...
and I am still using it now (along with a bit of the Liquid SPRAY Gel).
At least for MY hair...it is fantastic.

YES...always shampoo & conditioner BEFORE using the MELTing Gel...
otherwise you will run into problems.
Start with clean & conditioned hair.
How will it be in the morning? That depends on how much you
added to your hair.
Speaking only for myself...my hair usually smooth & silky by morning...
then I shampoo, condition and start all over again.
Works for me.
