Hi Ren,
> how often do you comb or brush your hair
Never. I use my fingers. I find that brushes and combs just break up the curl.
> did your hair start like parting in the middle by itself or did u start combing it that way
I don't really do a conscious part. I just let gravity do what it wants to do with it. Because if the extreme thickness and dark color, I don't really look great with a hard part, so it seems to work better for me to go with a less-contrived look. Or so say the ladies...
> mine is parting and its like a fro so should i comb it more back or just let it flow
My reccommendation would be to let it flow if you can live with it. I've been seeing a lot of kids with little afros around here and i'm kinda jealous. I'm thinking of picking mine out for halloween. If can't live with it that way, try some gel and brush it straght back.

No prob...good luck! With thick, curly hair, the awkward stage lasts FOREVER. That's because while straight hair grown, well, straight, and looks long in a year or two, with big curly hair, it may take three or four years to hit the shoulders. I'm coming up on two years, and I'd guess I have a good year to go before i hit my shoulders and two more year before I can cut it all to one length. I've been wearing a LOT of ponytails lately.
