Melting gel review

Well I tried using the melting gel the other day, and while it did not do exactly what I hoped, I must admit that the gel DID make the hair very soft, unlike any other gel I've used which made it hard or sticky. So thank you for the reccomendation! While it may not be perfect for me, I'm sure it will help if I need it.
Here's what I did. After I washed my hair, I combed it and let it dry just a bit more, then put the melting gel in. Probably too much actually, like a quarters sized amount on hair thats 4 inches. So next time I use it I will use less. Anyway, I let it air dry. I eventually ran my fingers through it and was surprised my how smooth it felt- and absolutely no residue was left on my hands. Nice.
Well, my hair was not quite as smooth looking and flat on my head as I hoped. Oh well though.
I've stated here before that I like my hair the best after I've worn a hat on damp hair for a long time. My next idea is to try applying just a small amount of melting gel through my hair after a shower while its damp, and then put my hat on. Hopefully this will work!
Anyone else ever worn a hat after applying melting gel? How well did it work for you?
Thanks for the advice. And I must admit that the more I hang around these boards, the more the thought of having a head full of long hair past my shoulders appeals to me- so keep on enticing me and I may be a fellow longhair someday!

The longer your hair...the more noticeable its effects will be!
I, for one, have NEVER been able to go without some type of hair dressing.
Even when my hair was relatively short, it just was so thick and dry
looking...almost like straw!
No, I did not color my hair...and yes I used the best shampoos & conditioners but...
my individual hair shafts are thick...plus my hair is thick...
In fact, stylists have always remarked that cutting my hair was
equivalent to cutting three 'normal' heads of hair!
Melting Gel (just enough) acts like a light hair dressing and a
moisturizer...
plus it adds shine.
On windy days, I can add more for a stronger effect.
Glad it is of some help to you. After all, there is no such thing
as a 'miracle product' that works for everybody's hair...no way.
So as your hair gets longer, keep experimenting and let us know how
it goes...and...
Good Luck!

Hey, LucksKind, two questions:
1. Does it reduce/eliminate the appearance of fly-away hairs?
2. How would I use it in tandem with a blowdryer?

1. Yes, it seems to keep the hair from looking dry with flyways.
Definitely helps make those pesky hairs stay down. It also
helps if you smooth your hair down gently with the palm of your hand.
2. I have never used it with a blowdryer...and I'd be interested
in hearing back from anyone who has...
