Starting at bald

On October 1 I finally decided to stop shaving my head.I'm 41 years old and have been either shaved or buzzed for ten years. Believe it or not, I was a long hair before that for the previous 10 years.(shoulder to mid back length) Oddly enough, I'm finding it harder to let go of the shaved head than it was to cut off my long hair. It will be different this time. My hairline is receded more in the front and my hair is greying. The beard has remained constant throughout the long hair and the shaved head. It was red with the long hair and is now mostly white. I'm wondering if anyone has a similar experience and/or wants to offer encouragement. I have just started taking monthly pictures which I will eventually post.(only 1 so far with the shaved head) Scott
Red hair long to shaved to long!

Red hair is rare... along with the pics of your current progress...
maybe you could even dig up an old photo displaying your Red ManE!
Your progress pictures from SHAVED head to whatever length you are aiming for...
should make for interesting viewing...and should provide plenty of inspiration for ALL!

I started at age 46 from a very short cut and now at age 50 my hair has reached elbow length. If it will continue growing in 1 year it should reach waist length.
There are some problems with thinning hair, but the scalp currently is still complete. Hopefully the hair will not get lost, but I can not be sure.
The whole hair still looks brown, I believe if the colored hair falls out I can not replace it. Maybe hair vitamins helped a little bit (Ultra Hair plus, Biotin, Hair Skin and Nails), and the increase in hair care definitely has helped the hair to exceed any length restrictions. The most important thing to get very long hair after my experience is to avoid breakage caused by plastic combs. A wide toothed hard rubber saw cut comb was very helpful for me.
I wish you much luck with your growing process.
