Ren. Faire Hair

I've been messing around with braids for a while (mainly doing my girlfriend's hair) since my post asking about them, and have figured out the three strand rope, the 4 strand rope, french braiding (just the concept, can't do it well yet)and those little 3-strand braids that are really skinny.
Well, I work at a rennassaisance faire in Texas in the spring, and I was thinking about doing the little braid to add to the medieval look. If any of you have comments or (especially) suggestions, I'm open!

Hello BG,
At your mention of fire breathing the issue of hair safety came to mind. That braid might end up closer to your mouth than you want or restrict vision during the juggling. Just guesses on my part as I have neither of those delightful skills.
Thinking on performers I have seen at reniassance festivals, the guys often have a French braid that keeps hair off the face for active acts. My favorite long haired guy at my local festival has a good looking mullet worn loose for fire breathing and swordfighting. For your length and certainly non-mullet style though, a partial ponytail would work to keep hair out of the way. Your girlfriend might also be able to do a little French braid from the forehead or down the sides on you. I'll be keeping my eyes open for other style ideas this weekend at the faire to be of help and also for my own visual enjoyment of course.

Or more. With your hair length and "curlyness" I'm going to have to think...
You have a cute smile and outgoing face, btw! LOVE the dimples! *(bet you hear that a lot)*
Actually to let your hair fly would fit the medieval theme...
You could just put thin braids in the style of the pic, but away from your face, in your hair.
But I would, in fact, just let that hair fly free. Natural is what you want to go for.
Thought about that

In reference to protecting my hair during fire-breathing, I've thought of that. at my yahoo! photo album, in the "Hippy" album, there's a photo of me wearing a dreadlock tam. This is the best thing I've ever found for keeping hair out of the way when fire breathing. It keeps the hair back and protects it too. However, it doesn't fit in with the ren style.
About keeping the braid away from the face, yeah, the only reason I did that one there, is that I'm not good enough to do braids on the back of my head; I did that one myself :)
