Whlie browsing this site i have seen many people are balding. i ve heard longer hair puts more strain on the roots of hair and may speed up the process of balding if you are genitcally incined to be bald.

Growing your hair is not really a factor in balding. What you've probably heard is people talking about long hair that is always tied back which can pull on the scalp and give the person headaches or maybe even damage some roots in more extreme examples. The problem is that these stories always fail to mention that the hair is bundled in some manner that will add the weight of all the hair to certain hairs or areas of hair where the tension isn't evenly distributed...thus causing pulling.
Though uncomfortable, pulling is is not a big problem that necessairly leads to balding. If you are balding then it will keep happening at whatever rate your body likes (genetics more than anything).
Now the perception of balding may be increased by the contrast between the longer hair and the increasing bald area. Whereas a guy who has little hair or already shaves it bald will not show the balding process as well.
