Your hair works very well with the facial hair, how long have you been growing?

Looks like you have great quality hair. Thanks for posting a pic of yourself. It shows that even middle-aged men can have great looking hair.
Godspeed.
Middle-aged?

Jiargi,
Do you really think ColdFlu is middle-aged? IMO he looks younger than that...

Three score years and ten is supposed to be the average lifespan.... I guess that makes you middle aged. As for me at ten years older - well over the hill ;)
thanks, Mark

for pointing out what should have been obvious. 35 is indeed middle-aged thus I don't understand the backlash about my comment.

Actually I was asking you how old you were to think that 35 is middle aged. By most people's opinion (at least adults), 35 is not middle aged yet...unless you lived a thousand years ago. Besides, age definitions are changing mightly due to medical science and nutrition.
If you think about it, you are only a child for a fraction of your life so your perspective will change as you move past certain age milestones, mine certainly did. It depends on other things as well, since some folks don't take very good care of themselves and will "look" much older than their years while others who do take care of themselves tend to appear much younger than what their years reflect (maybe that's normal though).

I was being mildly facetious, nothing more. Three score years and ten is the traditional life expectancy - yes, I know we live longer with each generation, but late thirties, onwards is pretty much middle aged. Unless, of course, you subscribe to the phenomenon "middle youth...."
At which point do we come "Old"? No one ever really admits to being old - is it 50s? 60s?
How you look and feel is another matter - I'm 45 going on 18.

One of the best lines on this topic comes from the movie, "On Golden Pond", in a discussion between a couple who were both about 75 years old. In this dialog, they point out one can be pushing the meaning of "middle aged" in the other direction than has been discussed in this thread:
Ethel: "They're a nice middle-aged couple, just like us."
Norman: "If they're just like us, they're not middle-aged."
Ethel: "Of course they are."
Norman: "Middle age means the middle, Ethel. Middle of life. People don't live to be a hundred and fifty!"
Also on the topic of one's generational vantage point, I remember the "Never trust anyone over thirty" line that was being bantered about when I wasn't anywhere near that ancient.
The fact that I actually remember all this brings to mind one other and glaring fact: I'd love to be as young as "ColdFlu" again, be he "middle aged" or not! :-)
While on the topic of generations of longhairs, it's a shame there are so few of us now in my generation. When I was in college in the late 60s and early 70s, there were lots of us. I really miss that.
Longhaired for life,

You have just shown your true age by calling him middle aged.

No offence Mod, but you should take a look at why Jiargi gets such a bad reaction. He not yet managed a post without dangling some cutting comment to wind people up.
Its easy to say turn the other cheek, but I think most of us enjoy the opportunity to give him a good slating...(not that we're shallow or anything...)[ahem...]

Not to mention that you're stooping to his level if you enjoy taking shots him as you've stated.
The only true panacea to guys who come on this board and pick at others (in subtle ways as Jiargi does, or blatant) is to just ignore them.
I don't care if that's a broken record statement, it's true. He's only doing it to get a reaction from you, which all of are doing. Let him play his game and he'll stop or just get tired of no one responding and move on. If not, he'll be taken care of in more serious steps.
With all due respect...

As Mark testified, ColdFlu is indeed middle-aged. What is the problem with my comment? I gave the man a compliment, for the love of Pete.
Moderator, what more serious actions are you threatening me with? I speak the truth.

Your comments are walking the line, in my opinion. They are almost like veiled insults or subtle shots at people. This may or may not be the case, but unfortunately you've branded yourself after the whole LucksKind fiasco and people are now expecting you to make rude remarks.
As for "Serious Actions" - I wasn't threatening you with any, to be honest. I was simply stating that if, in the future, you (or anyone) were to get out of hand you would have to be warned and ultimately taken care if you were to proceed.
Just watch what is said, because obviously people are perceiving your comments the wrong way.
