Jennifer Aniston Style For A Guy
Posted by Bill on November 03, 2003 at 11:56:47: Previous Next
I was out to dinner the other night and saw something that I thought was unusual for a guy with long hair. He was wearing it in a Jennifer Aniston style (See link below to see which one). The funny thing is that he looked great in it and in no way appeared to be feminine. I'm a straight male that likes long hair but isn't in to cross dressing or trying to look like a girl. I guess that this just goes to show that guys have a lot more options for how they wear their long hair than they think.
Looking forward to hearing your comments.

I agree, I'm going for a cut like that... it makes wearing hair down so much more interesting than if it was just cut all one length.
I've got atleast 18 months of growing to get through first though... maybe sometime in 2005...

You didn't mention what kind of a face he had...but I would imagine that
would have at least something to do with the fact that the
'Aniston' style suited him.
If he carried it off successfully...that is great...
I think a guy with just the 'right' kind of face
could wear just about ANY style and carry it off well!
Thanx for bringing this to our attention!

Isn't it strange that when a woman has fairly short hair no one ever compares it to male stars - such as Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 2.
I have been wearing my hair in the half-ponytail style that I have seen on many girls but also on other longhaired guys from time to time. It's more comfortable than a full ponytail as my hair is just shoulder length and it keeps the hair out of my eyes at work. Many comment that it reminds them of that guy in Star Wars episode 1.

In this particular case it was exactly the Jennifer Aniston look. I have absolutely no doubt that when he went to his stylist he showed her a picture of Aniston and said, "I want that style". All speculation to the side however, the bottom line is that it looked great.
At this point in time it seems that guys are becoming more willing to push the envelope in the ways that they wear their hair. The fact that they choose a style worn by a well known and very attractive woman is not a problem as far as I'm concerned--after all there are still more long haired women than there are men.

If it looks great and you like it, I say "go-for-it!" Besides, it is so easy to change out of that style in seconds if you decide you would rather wear your hair differently. I think we are all conditioned by society as to what looks feminine. The women do anything and society accepts. So, I say "Tit for Tat!" There are far worse problems going on in the world at present than how one wears their hair.
Ken and Barbie both with long hair...

I'm definately with you. It's about time that guys are allowed to do something with their long hair (other than a pony tail or a braid). Karsten brought up a perfect example--a half pony tail--of a style that guys can now wear. You did not see many guys wearing that style until Liam Neesan (did I spell that right?) wore it in Star Wars.
Below is another link to a guy with long hair that you never would have seen ten years ago. Can you imagine... Ken and Barbie both with long hair! While it is a period piece, the length and style go way past the collar length styles that Errol Flynn wore in his movies in the 1930's and 40's.

I'm totally with you too - why should women have the monopoly on all the cool longhair styles.
Infact I'd go as far to say that its women who inspire me to grow my hair long. By and large, men with long hair (present company excepted,) don't know how to care for long hair and it ends up looking awful, women for the most part manage to keep their hair in much better condition. Honestly, I hope to god that in two years time my hair looks my girlfriend's, and not like "Comic Book Guy."

Here (I believe) is the MAIN POINT! Both Women and MEN have been bestowed by NATURE that their hair IS to grow long. PERIOD! There is a purpose behind it that only Nature knows. So..........as to how to style your long hair, that really is up to you. No such thing as Masculine and Feminine............(except in the minds of a Society that has gone AGAINST Nature and as always, when the Human Race goes against Nature we cause troubles.) I say wear your hair any way you want. If someone else doesn't like it.........tough! It is YOUR HAIR!

That's an interesting point, that haircuts are a crime against nature! Now, if only we still had all those disused "crime against nature" statutes, now that we've found a legitimate use for them!
great style

I have to agree Aniston has an awesome style. I just love her hair and think the look could probably work with guys.
Just a side note, the name "Bill" is already taken by long time poster Bill Choisser. You'll have to find another moniker for this board. He is somewhat a high priest of long hair and deserves to have sole rights to that name for posting here.
