Hello,
I used to have very long , straight and silky hairs.9 month back I got it short and permed. Now my hairs after losing perm has become very dull and rough.I'm afraid can I ever have long and beautiful hairs again.
Genetically my hairs were straight.Do perm cause any harm to the texture of hairs permanently.
Please suggest me what should I do to gain long straight hairs again.
Thankyou.
waiting for response.

A perm should not cause any change to the roots of the hair. Which would mean that when new hair grows out, they should be the same as before the overall-hair before the perm.
It did sound like that was the case of your question. If however you were referring to the permed parts of already existing strands. Yes, they will/might cause permanent change to the hair, hence the word "perm" ;)
About 1,5 years ago I used to have really, really rough hair, felt like the mane of a horse or something. That was back when I didn't know anything about hair, I basically just used some bad conditioner and schampoo, not carying about that. As time passed on, I have switched schampoo and conditioner lots of times, and now only use professional saloon products, and used a lot of deep condition treatments etc.
The hair has become more and more silky ever since. To the point where using ionic products makes my hair softer and silkier than I ever thought possible.
When my hair was harch and dry like that, I thought that was how my hair was, and nothing I could do about it. Now it is the total opposit. I assume you are using a good schampoo/conditioner since your hair was silkier earlier. But it could still be a good idea to try some other ones, especially for dry hair. I would also recommend using a ton of deep conditioning and "retexturising" treatments once in a while.
And finally buy an eletrical ionic hair brush, or the natural ionic one from bio ionic. They have made a HUGE difference to my hair when it comes to the texture and feel of it.
In case you do not know what the negative ions do... They break up water molecules into micro-fine particles penetrating the hair shaft, and closing the cuticle. Leaving the hair soft and silky.
I don't know if it will help the strands to turn "straight" again, but it should help returning the moisture and getting that silky feeling back.
I have an electrical and the bio ionic one, and could not live without them ;)
