Creating volume at the roots?

Does anyone have any tips for creating more volume at the roots? I personally think that my hair is really flat at the roots, and I am just wondering what I can do to "spruce it up".
Thanks.

One technique I use is to apply a generous ammount of gell at the roots of the hair. With a diffuser on the blowdryer (low setting), lean your head down and dry the roots first, scrunching with your fingers. When dry, keep your head down, shut off the diffuser, and hold your hair out from your head until it "cools" down. This "cooling" is what will "set" the lift. You should notice your hair noticeably fuller when you straighten up. Hope that helps... it works really well for me.
