moisture/ oiling

Hello. I was wondering about the best kind of oil to use to keep the hair moisturized and what is the best procedure for using this? Recently I've noticed my hair was dry. I think it's because I slept right after taking a shower so I'm going to be more careful about letting it dry first next time. It seems my hair looks best after several days of not washing it. I usually will just water wash my hair the few next couple of showers after I shampoo it. But this time the water washing for some reason made it dry. Next time I'll wait longer until I do the water washing. Thanks for your responses! They are all very helpful! Also where can I get the cloth ties to pull my hair back?

What kind of shampoo did you use? Did you change brands from the last time you felt it soft? For example, I use pert (original green) usually. If I think it is really dirty and greasy feeling I use my mom's treseme or somehting like that and it leaves it clean. Really clean. That stuff makes it feel like little bitty ropes: very dry. So, I grab some of my sister's conditioner and it leaves it about as soft as the pert. Its easier to comb without catching any hairs. As for the oil, I haven't used any yet since I really don't need any by the end of the day because I would call my hair type oily to really oily. But that's cool because it makes it feel really soft and I enjoy feeling it at the end of one of those lonnnnngggg days at work.

Conditioner itself adds oils and nutrients to your hair and I would recommend you using a light/daily conditioner, maybe every other water wash to your routine.
