ok guys... so its layered. i can live with that. but i thought of something. i got it layered partly because my bangs were not actually working for me, and i'm gonna have to keep em trimmed to about my eyebrows. but once it gets down to my shoulders and i can pull it back into a ponytail, can i like pull my bangs back and so it will stay back and not hang down? i don't know if i've made a very good description, but there it is. plz comment.

Not if you keep them trimmed. Bangs/Fringe/Frontal Hairs have the farthest to go to reach the ponytail. They will fall in your face while they are growing as they are notoriously difficult to keep back. You will get some relief when they are long enough to be tucked behind your ears but not much. Your bangs will only stay out of your face when they can be securely tied into your ponytail. This takes a long time. To give you some idea I have been growing my hair for over eighteen months and my bangs *still* won't stay in my ponytail. If you keep your bangs trimmed with the idea of eventually growing them out you are only putting off the inevitable awkward stage for your bangs. Personally I'd rather go through the entire awkward stage at the same time, back, sides, and front.

I like it when bangs are long. PLEASE DO NOT Mullet your hair! I like the bangs in face look. I'm personally trying to grow my hair out like the lead singer of Puddle of Mudd. Or maybe Kurt Cobain.

U can use gel/spray/gunk to hold the bags back but they'll like as not fall forward at some point during the day... Most people want the bangs to reach the tail cos they are the most annoying part of having long hair. (They get in the way most.) But at eyebrow length they wont be a bother... I dunno... I'd say grow em too!
I dunno why they "wouldn't work" for you, what was the problem?

I honestly think your not giving your bangs and sides the chance they deserve. Hair at a shorter stage with most people does crazy irritating things anyway. But that is only untill it gets long enough to straighten itself out with added growth and weight. Believe me, I know this from experience. Think of it this way: Even if the ends of your bangs and sides flip or twist when it does get really long, that flipping and twisting will be down by your torso area (chest and lower) and not up by your face in the long run, so to me it wouldn't matter. Long bangs along with the rest of your hair is the best you can have for a pony tail. I have never really liked the way a mullet with a ponytail looks. The top and bangs being shorter sticks out to much that way instead of being more slicked back with the all over long hair ponytail. I don't think your going to have much luck getting the bangs to stay back if they're not in the ponytail tie. They may slick back with the help of gel for a while but with the activities of a day, they will just start falling out of place and getting in your face (poet and didn't know it!). Hope this helps. Peace!

Short Bangs just can't make it. Better just "Bite the Bullet" and let 'em grow!
