An experience of positive reinforcement

While this reflection is fairly trivial in nature, it stands out to me since it accounts for one of the few instances in which I received supportive feedback from a stranger regarding my somewhat long hair:
I recently participated in a LAN (Local Area Network) extravaganza, and while attending that event, I became acquainted with some new friends. At one point throughout the evening, the fellow sitting to my immediate left was recognized by a female friend of his who just so happened to be passing by the area at which we were gaming. I sporadically engaged in the conversation that initially developed between these friends so as to enhance the ideas exchanged. At one point, the female suggested the possibility of her brading my hair. As brief as my encounter with her may have been, I appreciate the fact that she took notice of my hair's length and especially that she offered to style it for me (as opposed to cutting it). I enjoyed that attention, especially since it came from a female and because it was completely unsolicited.
BTW, I noticed three other long-haired males at this LAN event, one of whom I was already familiar with (I became familiar with Ian - the second of the four of we long-haired males in attendance - not long after my arrival). Ian and his cousin (who, aside from his long hair, caught my attention by way of the long-sleeved Iced Earth shirt he was wearing) both looked similar to Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, and the long-haired friend whom I've known for several months has straight black hair that has grown to mid-back length.
All in all, today's LAN event was one of the most pleasant times I've enjoyed as of late, the reasons for my enjoyment not being limited to the presence and friendly reception toward males with long hair.
For anyone who's curious, my hair's length can be traced to a duration of approximately two years (24 months) as of this year's upcoming month of February.

It's always nice to hear that positive things are said to longhairs, especially on this board, where most of the time it's people coming to get help with the problems they're having.
Thanks for the encouraging post, and congratulations on the 2 year mark!

It's always good when things like that happen. Keep it growing!
p.s. I enjoy how you use the English language.
