did anyone use thse products for their hair at all at like the two to three month stage

Dunno what brand your refering to but if its american crew fibre/ pomade you mean then no as they're quite stressing on your hair especially fibre! an it dries out your hair. I used american crew texture/ thickening creme instead and found these gave lite hold and didnt degrade the condition of my hair. But there are much better light hold products availiable from aveda or nioxin which are even better for your hair. If you really need to a water based wax would give texture without stripping the moisture from your hair

When I was at that awkward stage, waxes and pomades were a great help! I found the ones with fibre too difficult to remove, as were some of the greasier ones. Make sure it is water soluble (like if you wash your hands after using it, your hands will feel clean, not greasy). My favourite was Redken's Waterwax or Aveda's Self-Control (which smells excellent, but is too expensive). One of the first on the market years ago was a fibre pomade called Molding Mud, by KMS that used to require dish detergent to remove it...LOL
